Prism Solutions, a leader in object-oriented data warehouse software, has a newly created position in its Sunnyvale headquarters for a Systems-Level Database Administrator. Prism's data warehouse software helps its Fortune 500 clients integrate and transform data into well-managed databases for decision support. Prism went public in March. This DBA will work with a team of software developers, providing installation and maintenance of Oracle, Sybase, Informix, DB2, and UNIX shells, as well as applications/RDBMS troubleshooting for various hardware platforms, including HP, DEC, Sun, and RS6000. The DBA will also set up and support a test environment for developers and customer support analysts, and will set up a backup and recovery script. This position requires strong systems-level competency with the majority of the hardware and software in the environment, and an understanding of hardware/software tradfeoffs and influences.
