Bruce, Try the format USING option. You can eliminate padding of, for example, '3.23' by using this form of the print statement. PRINT <var> USING "#.##" When unsure whether the one you are using is appropriate, you can check variable values in a CASE statement, e.g., ... DEFINE myvar DECIMAL (4,2) ... CASE when myvar < 10 PRINT myvar USING "#.##" when myvar > 10 and myvar < 100 PRINT myvar USING "##.##" ... etc. Hope this helps.
