We installed v5 on a new machine that was just cut over last week, but we do have the upgrade to v6 ready to be installed. I tried installing the v6 prior to the cut, but ran into some shared memory problems. Informix tech support really didn't help much, as it seemed to me that they really were not up to speed on v6. (The one thing that they did claim is that we had too large a raw dbspace -- just UNDER 2 gig. That I know was wrong, since v5 has the same 2 gig limitation and it runs fine with the same dbspace numbers.) Since we had to cut to the new box on time, I backed down to v5 and will do the upgrade to v6 after I attend the v6 admin training. V6 seems to be a good product, and I wish we could have gotten it running properly, but we were under strong pressure to cut the new machine over in a 'window' and could not afford the time to mess around getting it right. We're doing fine on the new box with the v5 as of this time. Kind of reminds me of the canonical two rules about upgrades (stolen from the two rules about optimization ;-). Rule 1: Don't do it. Rule 2: Don't do it yet. <bfg> Good day JSW
