Sounds like permissions to me! The file, /logs/logical, must be owned by informix, group informix, permissions 660 just like any chunk. Also make sure that the filesystem has room for the LTAPESIZE you have configured. What else?..... Oh, did you change LTAPEDEV in the ONCONFIG file manually with the engine online? That will not work. You have to either change it with the engine OFFLINE or using onmonitor. Note that onmonitor is too smart for its own good. If you change the value to the same string onmonitor WILL alter the ONCONFIG file but it will not change shared memory. So if the engine is online, change it in the ONCONFIG to something else then use onmonitor to change it to /logs/logical. Art S.
