FINANCIAL WORLD SELECTS INFORMIXS PHILLIP WHITE FOR CEO OF THE YEAR AWARD MENLO PARK, Calif. (March 27, 1995) -- Informix Software, Inc., (NASDAQ: IFMX) the leading provider of parallel processing database technology, today announced that for the third consecutive year, Financial World magazine has selected Phillip White, Informix chairman, chief executive officer, and president as a 1995 CEO of the Year Industry Award winner. Mr. White was selected as the leading CEO in the Business Software and Services category. Now in its 21st year, Financial Worlds CEO of the Year Competition recognizes the most higly regarded executives in their respective industries. Business executives and securities analysts across the nation selected the winners from a pool of more than 3,000 CEOs. Financial World will profile the recipients in its March 28 issue and honor them at an awards banquet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York, which will benefit Special Olympics. White's award follows a record year in Informix's history. The company saw revenues of $468 million in 1994 and significant technical and customer endorsements of its newest products, INFORMIX'-OnLine Dynamic Server, the industrys leading parallel processing RDBMS and INFORMIX-NewEra, a second-generation, object-oriented client/server application development tool. Among the major contracts signed in 1994 were GTE Corporation, Sears, United Airlines and Wells Fargo Bank for enterprisewide applications based on OnLine Dynamic Server. Phil White joined Informix in January 1989 as chief executive officer and became president later that year. In 1992, Mr. White was elected chairman of the board. Before joining Informix, Mr. White was president of Wyse Technology, Inc. and he was vice president of sales and marketing at Altos Computer Systems.
