In the SINIX version, SQL 2.1 and 4GL 1.1 had destructive backspace. From
4.0 on, they changed it to be consistent with the "original" INFORMIX.
My users have been crying ever since...
One other SINIX enhancement in 2.1 that was dropped in 4.0 was the
load from/unload to PIPE. I really liked that nifty feature, since
it allowed statements like
load from pipe "rsh remotehost file | awk 'something' | sed 'anything' "
and so on. Is there a chance to include that in future versions of
INFORMIX?
