4GL Version 7.50.UC6 date format in form

I just upgraded to Informix 4GL Version 7.50.UC6 Linux 32bit and now all my 4GL forms that have date fields give an error "Error in field" when typing in a date in this format "081012", it only works if the date is entered in this format "08/10/12" or "08/10/2012", it used to work with or without the slashes (/). I don't have DBDATE set, but if I set it to DBDATE=MDY20 then I can enter "081012" for the date, but then it also displays on 4GL reports without the slashes and I can't enter a date in the form with the slashes. I tried setting the form field to type char, but then if a valid date isn't entered into the form field the program exits. Is there a way to get this back to the old behavior of 7.50.UC4 or do I need to go back to the old version?
