Hi, I tried to bring the DR informix online 5)server after sync from production server but failed. error was i/o read chunk2 pagenum 278066, pagecnt 1 - errno 6. I have checked all the permission on the local vg and also the link file - all ok. I dont know wether this is an OS problem during sync or informix problem?
Hi, if it's an OS re-sync try re-linking your symbolic links. I know for example after an AIX mksysb you have to re-link the symbolic links. I'm assuming you are using RAW partitions and have symbolicaly linked you Informix chunks to the RAW UNIX partitions. Hi David , Thanks , It's true that I am using raw device and use link file to link to the disk (chunk). I assume that the problem occured during sync the link file - am I right? because my unix admin keep pointing this problem to DB admin. And when I did the tbcheck -pr or check the online.log ( DR server ) - it gave me status that the chunk2 is offline. I assume during sync from production server to DR server the chunk2 was force to be offline because of some inconsistency disk problem. While at the production server (source server), all chunk are online. by the way - my os is Hp -unix.
Hi, how are you syncing production to your DR server? i.e. how are you replicating the production server onto your DR box.? I.E. is it UNIX DD or are you exporting the volume groups or are the disks mirrored or are you using Informix backup/restore.
