Problem Installing Informix Dynamic Server

I downloaded a Try&Buy version of Informix Dynamic Server V7.30 for NT. I installed it on an NT Server. The install seemed to go ok, but after a short time of investigating IECC, I got a blue screen. After this when I started the Command Center, a task seemed to start, but it would not it was a ghost task, just showing a splash screen and never opening the application. Since then I have tried to uninstall, and install again, without success. The problem seems to revolve around a file: \\ism\\1.00\\bin\\liblocal.dll This file cannot be deleted, and I cannot determine what process is running it. The install program tries to overwrite it, and fails. If anyone can lend some insight about this file, and my problem I would appreciate it. - Neal Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
IECC is known to be unstable, specially if it sees a remote database server. If you ask Informix tech support, they will tell you that you need Service Pack 5 to make it stable. I have personally not tried SP5 due to all the headache we got with SP4. -- Bashar Chalabi CTL, London nealgran@my-deja.com wrote in message <7m5knb$jn4$1@nnrp1.deja.com>... >I downloaded a Try&Buy version of Informix Dynamic Server V7.30 for NT. >I installed it on an NT Server. 1.try to know is your database system is on-line from informix command prompt or [ control panel]->[services]. 2.Use [services] to stop two servies name begin with IECC and then restart them. <nealgran@my-deja.com> wrote in message news:7m5knb$jn4$1@nnrp1.deja.com... > I downloaded a Try&Buy version of Informix Dynamic Server V7.30 for NT. > I installed it on an NT Server.
