Data and Index Validation Exceptions

Hello, While validating data of a table with the command oncheck -cD dbname:tabname. I am getting the follwoing excption "ERROR: Remainder piece 0x1eaa4702 referenced by datarow but not found in page" AND While validating indexes on the same table with the command oncheck -cI dbname:tabname, I am getting the following exception Index 469_1137 Index fragment partition datadbs_1 in DBspace datadbs_1 ERROR:No data row exists for btree item. Btree item contains fragid 0x600768 rowid 0x1eaa0402, key value: Key: 2695176: Fragid 0x600768 Rowid 0x1eaa0402 contains key value: Key: 514459393: Here the index '469_1137' is primary key index. How can I resolve these two problems. Regards, Anees

There is some damage to the data stored on disk. The only good resolution is to unload the table, drop and recreate the table, and reload it. For safety, as a paranoid DBA, I would actually perform a dbexport on every entire database, then try to restore the server from an archive rolling forward logical logs, then see if that resolved the problem. If more I would drop the entire instance and rebuild it from scratch using the dbexport data. BTW, this should not happen. Are you using some kind of unsafe disk structures for your chunks like RAID5/6/Z or a journaled filesystem like EXT3 or EXT4? Undetected drop outs on RAID5/6/Z and journaled filesystem write-back behavior after a crash are the only things that I can think of that will cause this particular kind of corruption! Art S.
