FW: How can we access informix from Visual Basic?
Posted in 1996
There are many ways to access informix through VB. You can use VBX and OCX data tools from vendors like Sheridan and Far Point. You can also write your own SQL statements using Recordsets depending on your version of VB. But, what it comes down to is need to use ODBC. There are many companies that sell ODBC drivers such as Intersolv, SCO, Openlink, Visigenic, etc. The ODBC driver you get depends on your preference, price you are willing to pay and your needs.
