Actually in version 10 and above you may place indexes on raw tables. So you can have a non-logged table with indexes. Now in version 11 checkpoint I/O does not occur while people are locked out, this should satisfy your second requirement.. The only thing you can not do it put constraints on raw tables. John F. RAW tables have a low overhead but cannot have indexes or constraints. Even at 11.5 there is not the type of table you ar looking for. Thanks you , John ... Sorry for my english ... I can not catch what you mean in the following ">>>" Actually in version 10 and above you may place indexes on raw tables. So you can have a non-logged table with indexes. >>>Now in version 11 checkpoint I/O does not occur >>>while people are locked out May I ask what "While people are locked out" mean ?!
In version 11 of IDS there was a feature introduced which is called non-blocking checkpoints. This type of checkpoint does not block any user action when the data from the bufferpool is being flushed to disk (give the proper configuration). This is unlike previous version where either blocking checkpoints or fuzzy checkpoints existed.
