We have noticed that when an several processes , all in transactions, try to update the same row of a table the update fails and INFORMIX error code -154 is returned. Further, the SET LOCK MODE WAIT TO 120 statement is used but the -154 is returned immedidately. INFORMIX has informed us that the -154 error is the wrong error code, but has not been able to provide any more insight. NOTE: At first I thought deadlocks were being detected and the -154 was incorrectly being returned. However, after forcing a deadlock in a test situation the -154 went away and the correct error code was returned. -----End of forwarded messages
