I am currently working on a contract with Recognition testing a MS Windows GUI frontend (XDP) for Informix. There is a runtime and development version. Supports several PC tpc/ip networks, FTP, Novell, HP, Wollongong(sp) etc... Support for high speed scanners and ocr. Support for hardware and software compression of images on the PC side. Support for fax. Contact Recognition Sales (Sunnyvale CA.) 408-744-1210 for the details. I have not seen a GUI frontend that supports both MS-Windows and Motif. Dosn't mean one dosn't exist but it would be a large project. Advantages: Low priced frontends. Very good performance on blob data transfer and manipulation. Use of other ms-gui tools. Disadvantages: Limitations of MS-Windows. Note: The above are my opionions. I am under contract not to discuss details of the product. Very interesting product to test. ---Bob -- --- Bob Palowoda palowoda@netcom.com
