It may be hard the first time, but if you make the effort :-) to learn it, it's realy good. Particularly if you use a good terminal :-) emulator under MS Windows (or on Motif) so you get multiple windows :-) with cut and paste between them. :-) :-) Nils.Myklebust@ccmail.telemax.no :-) NM Data AS, Postbox 9090, Gronland, 0133 Oslo, Norway :-) My opinions are those of my company :-) OTOH, if you're using SUNOS/Solaris on a SPARCstation, try setting DBEDIT to textedit - this brings up a pretty good text editor in a separate window - you can select stuff with your mouse, copy, cut, paste, search for text, include other files etc, etc. It doesn't have anything like the learning curve that vi has (ie it's simple to use!), and in my experience, it really pi**es professional IT people off when they log in as you to work on a problem. I would imagine that other flavours of unix have similar editors. If you're using a Nintendo (sorry, I mean a PC), forget it :-) Just a thought! Richard.
