In article <slrn6d8e9v.phi.frostbit@kali.brainlink.com>, Raj Goel <frostbit@brainlink.com> writes > Due to licensing issues, we're migratiom from ONLINE 7.23 (the 32 thread >license that came with Netscape LiveWire PRO) to unlimited connection >WORKGROUP 7.20 and what I can't figure out, is where's the onmonitor >equivalent for WGS? > WGS 7.20 does not include onmonitor. Informix tried to phase it out in favour of GUI based tools (look on the cd in the /clients directory). Of course the GUI based tools have limitations like they can't allocate raw disk space.. I mentioned this in c.d.i some months ago and people from here took up the complaint. Eventually the Informix International Users Group talked to Informix and onmonitor was reinstated. (This happening quickly like in a matterof a few weeks!). PS Guess what! I installed WGS on SCO Openserver 5.0.4 on Friday and guess what...no onmonitor!! PPS Watch out UK Tech Support, I'm logging a support call on Monday!! > What gotchas am I looking at in migration from one to the other? > > One thing I noticed is that WGS 7.20 has backup to disk whereas >OWS 7.23 only supports tape. > > Thanks. > >========= << raj >> == http://www.brainlink.com/~frostbit/ ============== > SYSADMIN: BrainLINK System (718) 805-6559 // http://www.brainlink.com > > You want to be president?
