You're shipping 44M of data plus the overhead of putting it in packets,
listening for space on the net, backing off and retransmitting after
collisions, etc. I'm not sure what other result you could reasonably
expect! How to make it go away? - Only transmit what you need!
By the way, did you measure other network traffic, collisions, etc? How
long does it take to FTP 44M over your network?
