Problem with multiple databases in a single 4GL program

} } } Hello all, } } } We are running into some serious difficulty when running a 4GL program } which manipulates two dinstinct databases under the following } configuation of Informix } } Interactive UNIX System V, Release 3.2, Version 4.0 } Informix SE Version 5.0 / 486 } Informix-4GL/RDS Version 4.10 / 486 } } Specifically, we are trying to merge two databases which reside into two } different directories into a third database. We use statements } } DATABASE "dbname" } CLOSE DATABASE } } to open and close each database respectively. } } Upon successful building of the third database we issue a number of SQL } modification operations (INSERTs and DELETEs). After a random number of } successful such SQL operations, the system fails issuing the following } runtime error } } Program stopped at "cctpropevl.4gl", line number 116. } SQL statement error number -410. } Prepare statement failed or was not executed. } It might be all of this DATABASE stuff your doing. Have you checked STATUS after the DATABASE statement? You're connection may not get made in which case I could easily believe that a PREPARE would fail.
