In all probability it will be the last major release of the 7.1x product line. I don't know exactly how long the support will be officially continued on 7.14, but would be really supprised if it were dropped before the end of the year. The good news --- The 7.2x product line is really shapping up rather nicely. There is very little that most sites will need to do to move to 7.2x. >Issue #2: >We need to understand all ramifications of having different databases >on different versions of Informix while on the same network (7.1.4 & 7.2.2) >Anybody know? Example - we need to be able to execute a query that will >take data via ODBC from a 7.1.4 database, and combine it with data via >ODBC from a 7.2.2 database. There is no real reason that you can't use 7.22 in a tcp environment with 7.14 (or with 5.x for that matter). Of course, if you use sql which was added since 7.14, then that individual command might fail. I really can't think of any sql statements that have been added to the 7.2 product line, so that should not be an issue. (you'd think we'd be able to get an answer from our local office) Thank you for any insights Please respond to me directly since I am no longer an active member of this group.(by necessity not design) John Regep Director Vnet Development Value Rx, Inc jregep@venus.vrx.vhi.com Madison Pruet
