Informix Java problems

People,
I am running Informix 10.00.UC3W2 with Java on RHEL3. We are experiencing a
problem that a Java UDR starts working and randomly it stops executing and the
only way to get it working again is to restart the database server.
Further to this I have executed onstat -g glo to get the vpid.
[informix@mixdb-lk ontmp]$ onstat -g glo

It seems you have a bug with your Java app that raises an uncaught
exception:
java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException

I don't know if you're still having this problem. I was having trouble sending
mail for a while..
There is a known problem with the version of the JVM you are using on RHEL3.
The symptoms are somewhat different though but I'm mentioning it in case the
underlying cause is related... This is the problem description:
IC49819: LAUNCHING A KRAKATOA (J/FOUNDATION) APPLICATION ON A LINUX SMP KERNEL
CAUSES A SEGMENTATION VIOLATION ASSERTION FAILURE
Error description
Oninit can SEGV when launching a JVP for the first time on
Linux32-bit SMP kernel with hyperthreading CPUs. The problem
has been isolated to the IBM 1.4.2 Java Runtime Environment
supplied with IDS.
Local fix
Replacing the krakatoa JRE with the latest IBM 1.4.2 JRE Service release 5 or
higher resolves the problem.
Problem summary
Problem was in the Java Runtime Environment.
Problem conclusion
The problem was first fixed in version 10.00.xC6 as part of the JRE upgrade
for the Daylight Saving Time changes.
