} I would like to ask if anyone can help me with setting up the database
} public accessible.
}
} I have done the following:
}
} setenv DBPATH /home/aa4cs/senior_project
}
} and invoke the database the following way.
}
} >fglgo ~aa4cs/senior_project/aa4csdb.4gi
}
} What happen was that after the welcome menu of this database and the menu
} option invoke, I get the following general error pretty much:
}
} Program stopped at "user_info.4gl", line number 220.
} SQL Statement error number -242.
} Could not open database table (aa4cs.ct_tb).
} SYSTEM error number -13
} Permission denied
}
} So it seem that some how the public can not access to all the table.
}
} Thank You,
} Kelvin
To provide access to the public, you need to:
GRANT CONNECT TO PUBLIC;and for *each* table to be made accessible:
GRANT SELECT ON tablename TO PUBLIC;If it is appropriate to give other privileges to the public, then:
GRANT SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE ON tablename TO PUBLIC;
From the error message, it sounds like you did the GRANT CONNECT but
not the specific table grant(s).

Alan
