dbaccess problem 11.10.uc2 or 11.10.fc2
Posted in 2008
A user on AIX 5.3 found that dbaccess in IDS 11.10.UC2/FC2 fails to clear the screen before showing query results, so leftover SQL text is mixed into the output; Ctrl-R didn't redraw it correctly and IBM support initially couldn't reproduce it. Another poster saw the same thing on Red Hat ES 4. Suggestions to check TERM/TERMCAP/INFORMIXTERM (switching from terminfo to termcap) didn't help, and the poster showed the older UC1/FC1 dbaccess binary worked fine against the same engine. Resolution: it was confirmed as a dbaccess bug, fixed in version X3, with a patch expected shortly.

Hello,
If there is someone out there using either the uc2 or fc2 release of IDS
on an aix 5.3 system ... can you tell me if you are having any issues with
dbaccess...here is what is happening: If you enter the following sql:
select
count(*)
from
systables
where
tabid > 1;
The result would be:
count(*)
220
systables
where tabid > 1;
As you can see the screen isn't clearing off prior to showing the results.
I have opened up a case to IBM...but they haven't been able to reproduce
it. Nothing strange going on with termcap and such...using a vt100 value
for TERM.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Does Control-R re-draw it correctly?

yes .. that is what I'm using ... sorry about forgetting that ...
I have loaded the 4 different levels of the software on the same system
... with no environment changes at any place ...
I've also copied the dbaccess job from the working fc1 or uc1 version and
that works with the fc2 or uc2 engine ... I'm quite sure the problem is
actually with the dbaccess binary ...

Just an FYI ... There is a bug on this ... it's fixed in X3 ... and a
