Automation error

I'm programming in VB6 connecting to a Informix database. When I open an ADO connetion to informix if I close the object or set it to nothing when I try to open the conection again with the same user and password i get this error: Run Time error '-2147319779(8002801d)' Automation error Library not registered. I have to close the vb application and open it again to connect to the database. Do you have any idea why i get this error?? Thanks
