> Update statistics crashed system We had a similar problem with 7.13 on DEC Alphas and tracked it to a known informix bug (flush_sub bug, either 50230 or 44820 bug number). Informix sent out a patch to fix it. It only happens when UPDATE STATISTICS is run at the same time as other Informix processes - therefore try to run it when no-one else is logged in. If your database is large or records are added/deleted frequently then it is very important to run it to maintain the speed of your reports etc. Paul R.
