question re IDS 9.30 upgrade from 7.31
Posted in 2004
Hi, We are on SAP. I upgraded the DB from 7.31.FC6X2, to 7.31.FD6X3, to 9.30.FC4XA (SAP doesn't support 9.4 for our SAP setup yet). From a DB perspective the upgrade was smooth. The SAP Admins were going through their start-up checklist and found a problem at the SAP level. We have opened an OSS ticket, but searching all avenues including IIUG. SAP trans SM66 reported problems with missing tables: SYSMASTER:SAPSYSLOCKTAB, SYSMASTER:SAPSYSUSERTHREADS, SYSMASTER:SAPSYSTRANS, SYSMASTER:SAPSYSSCBLST, SYSMASTER:SAPSYSUSERTHREADS Has anyone run into this? Is the problem related to the DB upgrade to 9.3? During the 9.3 upgrade, the following messages came out in the onlinelog: -------------------- 17:46:00 The Conversion of the Database Tablespace is Finished 17:46:00 Conversion of pre 9.2 Database Tablespaces Succeeded 17:46:00 Build of sysmaster and sysutils databases Started 17:46:00 Update reserved page status of conversion 17:46:00 Succeeded 17:46:00 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds. 17:46:00 Checkpoint loguniq 123806, logpos 0x6018 17:46:00 Maximum server connections 0 17:46:00 Internal Conversion Completed Successfuly 17:46:00 Conversion Enabling Client Connections 17:46:00 Performing internal conversion of disk structures and databases... 17:46:01 Converting database sysmaster ... 17:46:01 On-Line Mode 17:46:03 The database sysmaster has been converted successfully. ------------------------- What technically does "build of sysmaster and sysutils databases started", and "database sysmaster has been converted successfully" mean?... did this process do a drop/create of any kind... thus dropping the SAP added sysmaster tables? We have not yet upgraded SAP to Enterprise. Per SAP support matrix, we are currently on a supported combination (IDS 9.30.FC4XA, Solaris 9, SAP R3=4.6B, SAP Kernel=4.6D Patch 1725). thanks for your insight, Norma Jean ----------------------------------------- ============================================================ The information contained in this message may be privileged and confidential and protected from disclosure.
