4GL and GNU gcc Compiler

we tried to substitute our bundled cc Compiler on our HP 10.20 machine with the GNU gcc Compiler. Compilation of 4GL programs worked fine, but at run-time we got several 'menory fault core dump' aborts of our 4ge programs. Does anybody use gcc and 4GL and can give us any advice how to compile 4GL programs with gcc.
