BLOB size

Hi,
I am trying to find out the size of the blob. I have scanned thru the
FAQ and archive. I find some suggestions but none of them seems to
work in our environment. I try:
select blob_name, length(blob_data) from blob_tab;or
select blob_name, length(blob_data::lvarchar::clob) from blob_tab;
but both sql's return the following error:
674: Routine (length) can not be resolved.
Does anyone know how I can get this information? We use IDS 9.30.
TIA,
Ray
