NewEra and ODBC Drivers

Hi, I have a need to connect to a foreign database aswell as Informix from a NewEra application. It seems that if I go ODBC, I am stuck with ODBC for accessing the native Informix database also (With NewEra you must choose either CCL/INFORMIX or CCL/ODBC). I have made some enquiries about ODBC drivers and one U.K vendor claims that their ODBC driver is even faster than native access to Informix databases. 1. Could this be true? 2. What has been the experience regarding ODBC and Native access in terms of performance? 3. Will I definitly get a performance hit if forced to use ODBC with the Informix database, which is the main data source? Thanking You, Tom
