How to setup ER using 3 different servers
All I have 3 servers A B and C. I have already ER setup between A and C Server A -------- SERVER ID STATE STATUS QUEUE CONNECTION CHANGED ----------------------------------------------------------------------- amvs_ser_sec 11 Active Connected 0 Aug 6 16:47:18 caesium_replserv 66 Active Local 0 Server B -------- SERVER ID STATE STATUS QUEUE CONNECTION CHANGED ----------------------------------------------------------------------- amvs_ser_sec 11 Active Local 0 caesium_replserv 66 Active Connected 0 Aug 6 16:47:20 now i have to setup ER between C and B with B holding 2 servers In Server C ----------- cdr define server -A /informix/replication/ATS -R /informix/replication/RIS -I avenger_replserv In Server B ----------- cdr define server -A /informix/replication/ATS -R /informix/replication/RIS -I amvs_ser_sec -S avenger_replserv i keep getting the error - command failed -- Enterprise Replication already active (63) tried various combinations but not luck. When you want to add a new server to the existing replication environment use -I avenger_replserv --- to define new server C as replication server and -S amvs_ser_sec --- to synchronize replication catalog of Server C with Server B. So, your command should look like this: cdr define server -A /informix/replication/ATS -R /informix/replication/RIS -S amvs_ser_sec -I avenger_replserv You might have to do 'cdr delete serv -c avenger_replserv avenger_replserv' before you execute the above command.
