It's an enhancement to troff. I insert the typesetting commands in the 4GL program. It may be a little terse, but the output is execellent. A little sample would be FIRST PAGE HEADER PRINT ".TS" # start able PRINT "center box tab(;);" # center a box w/ delimiter of ; PRINT " c c c." # center 3 columns PRINT p_rec.var1 CLIPPED, ";", p_rec.var2 CLIPPED, ";", p_rec.var3 CLIPPED The output when passed through the pre-preprocessor generates postscipt code.GNU also has "groff" which I have used. Eroff just has some more bells and whistles like inserting eps code. Eroff runs about $900. I've been doing this kind of reporting for 5 years and love it ( as do the clients.) Hope this helps, hwill@ix.netcom.com
