At no point have you identified your O/S, Hardware or (most importantly) your Informix Server Versions. From the message you are getting you appear to be running on V 5.x. Have you installed I-NET or I-STAR? One of these are needed to enable two V 5 engines to talk to each other (even on the same box). Once you have purchased, installed and configured this syntax will work. Alternatively upgrade to V 7 or V 9 where such connectivity is integrated in the engine and does not require purchase of a separate product.
