multi-volume backups (automated/ operator assisted)

Hi, I would like to know the best way of performing operator assisted / automated multi volume archives. H/W : Sparc 1000 O/S : Solaris 2.3 Informix : Online 5.01 Tape: 4mm DAT My database is about 6GB in size, and a level 0 archive does not fit on one tape any more. So the questions are: 1> Is there any way I can do a multi-volume archive through cron? (tbtape needs user input when second tape is mounted) 2> I could not find any way to do above, so I tried writing a script that can be executed by operators over night. The problem is "tbtape" can not be used by any one else but root or Informix. I tried using "set-uid" bit on the shell script, with script owned by root, but that did not work either.
