The tcpip startup file (/etc/init.d/tcpip ?) is usually where the ntpd (Network Time Protocol Daemon) start commands are located, and the /etc/ntp.conf file contains the configuration information for the ntpd. Information like the tcpip address of the node (or nodes) you wish to sync to, as well as which version of time stamps to use is contained in this file. -- Regards, Walter S.
