I can't guarantee that you'll be able to do exactly what you want, but I'll be surprised if you can't. Advantages: * You can get a free copy (mail me if you can't find out where). * Some good (hell, even *funny* !) books out on both. * Stable and widely used. * Newsgroups which will help you. * Designed for phototypesetting. * Previewers available for X and Sunview. * Easy to incorporate the (ASCII) formatting commands in report output. * Should be faster than spreadsheets. Disadvantages: * Cryptic, fairly hard to learn. * Secretaries, etc., will *far* prefer a spreadsheet. * No local help ? (contrast with tbl & spreadsheets). > I think that a good > possibility is outputting the data in delimited format which can be pulled > into a spreadsheet. Personally, I'd *hate* to do that :-) However, best of luck if you go that way. > Carl Mosley > ctm@mvune.att.com Just a thought ...
