It would be wonderful ... The equivalent in RDS is to link the functions into the runner. Even 4GL functions can be included in an RDS runner! (I know that does not sound right, but it does work!) Since the runner is common to all RDS executables UNIX code sharing will use only one copy in memory for all RDS modules that use the same runner. By making one UBERrunner, or at least only a few application-group specific runners, you can have all of the benefits of shared libraries in and RDS environment. Art S. Kagel
