It will be released rather quickly on the IBM RS6000/SP (formerly known as the SP/2), the ICL Goldrush, and a new AT&T/GIS/NCR (??) machine that was demo'ed on the IWUC floor. I know the HP port is in the works 'cause they had an un-optimized beta version running on the floor between two of their Kittyhawk machines via the FDDI channel which will be released next month. It was kind of fun to see this beta port keeping up with the IBM machine. IBM was not too happy. THe biggest beta site that was mentioned is the MCI server in Colorado. It is believed to be the biggest db in the world running on a Unix based server. I can't confirm that but I know Informix is checking into that. They (MCI) are slated to be over a TB by the end of the year. Word is it that the OnLine engine is out-running the RS/6000/SP machine they are on. MCI is also seeing near linear scalable performance increases with each node they plug into the machine. I don't know where you are writing from but your local Informix users group can help you get more information as well as the Informix office. Information on your local users group can be found off of my WWW page -- which will be re-org'ed this weekend to include information on the new International Informix Users Group. -- Carlton Doe "It's not *over* until I win!" -- Les Brown DBA Resources, Inc.
