In the main they have less resource to get them out of the shit. A couple of years ago I saw a 9 month old 5 disk RAID 5 system have all the disks fail one after the other within 7 days. They saved '1,000 in hardware costs, but it cost more in consultants fees to get them back working and several days of down time. ( But it was the best database I have ever seen, 20k pubs !!)
