unix passwords

hello all, recently there was some mail about chaning unix passwords from the front end in informix. was there a final conclusion on how to do this best? our application would like to use the unix login/password for validation but to be able to force a unix password change from the application. OpenLink allows you to set a parameter to use the unix login/password for validation but not to change the password or catch an forced change if it has expired. our system is HP-UX 9.04 and informix 7.1. we were thinking about either having a socket connection from the client or if possible use a trigger/stored procedure to execute a program on the server that will change the password.
