In a shell script using isql or dbaccess I like to send all output to a
logfile with the following:
isql database script >>/tmp/logfile 2>&1
This sends the unix stdout and stderr output to the file /tmp/logfile
and the users don't see it, but you can for debugging. To get rid
of all output use /dev/null instead of a logfile. The ">>/tmp/logfile"
redirects standard output (&1) to a file and the "2>&1" redirects
standard error (&2) to the same place as stdout.
For ace reports use
sacego report >>/tmp/logfile 2>&1
