You could have used the free Informix Client SDK available from http://www.intraware.com, but there strangely is no AIX version (yet?). As this is free for several platforms you might be able to get the ESQL/C development version for AIX for free (or allmost) from Informix. > Will the AIX box require a hosts, services, >and sqlhosts file? Yes. >Any setup help will sure help.... There are these fine manuals you know. I admit it may not all be easy, but still. Start there and see. It's in one of them. Now one last but important thing. As you intend to use straight ESQL/C you also will use the Informix implementation of connectivity between your clients machine and yours. As have been discussed several times here in c.d.i. it's impossible to achieve any great degree of security with this setup. If security is no significant consern it seems to work very well. If it is however you might want to look at other solutions as well. They would all involve writing completely new applications as far as I can see, but may be the functionality your clients need isn't that much? May be they could even be solved by some simple internet/intranet solutions (web/html/java or similar solutions).
