Cheers, Sean. Is it a memory problem? This could happen if the user process were to get swapped out. Try looking around with sar or whaterver other sysadmin tools are available. Another possibility might be some high priority process coming in and grabbing all the CPU. Are non-Informix programs also affected? Ian
