Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Kate Tomchik reported more logging after upgrading from 11.70FC7 to 12.10FC13 despite doubled log size. David Williams knew only of a version 14 APAR (IT39156) about heavy sysprocplan logging and suggested checking partnums in onlog. Benjamin Thompson advised dumping a log with onlog and mapping partnums to names with the partn utility. No cause was found.

Hey all,
We recently upgraded from 11.70FC7 to 12.10FC13. During the upgrade I created new log space with logs that were twice as big as they were in 11.70. Despite that change, the amount of logging has increased on the server. Does anyone know of a feature in 12.10 that might be creating the additional logs?

HI Kate,
I have not seen this, the only APAR I know with excessive logging iis for Version 14:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT39156
IT39156: HEAVY SYSPROCPLAN LOGICAL LOG ACTIVITY AFTER UPDATING STATS FOR TABLES IN A PROCEDURE OR FUNCTION
If you dump the log with onlog which table/index does the partnum map to?
Regards,
David.

As the person who raised the case that led to this defect being logged you would need a busy system with a high core count and a lot of active threads calling stored procedures to see this defect.
