how to determine index size
I am trying to determine how informix determines the index size that it
reports when using dbschema.
{ TABLE "informix".notes row size = 81 number of columns = 3 index size = 12 }
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
create table "informix".notes
(
req_nbr integer,
sequence smallint,
notes char(75)
);
revoke all on "informix".notes from "public";
create index "informix".notes on "informix".notes (req_nbr);
According to the 7.3 performance guide (pg 4-14) the index key size is the
length of the columns + 4. In this case it would be 8. So where is the 12
coming from or am I just missing something?
