How about onload(tbload) and onunload(tbunload)? I haven't used it very =
extensively but you can restore specific tables within a database if you =
want to, and it is faster than dbexport/dbimport. I am not sure if you =
need to kick your users off when you do it, but I expect that you would =
need to.

Subject: Backup and Restore Help!!!
I have a problem, which I thought was a simple one to fix, but after
consulting with Informix, there is no current Informix utility to solve
my problem.
My problem is: I want to backup my On-Line database each night to tape
and be able to selectively restore tables if needed. Ontape does a good
job of backing up the whole database and restoring individual database
spaces, but I don't want to have to restore the entire space, just a
table or two within that space.
I thought about a dbexport, but my users complained each night when I
kicked them off the system since dbexport requires exclusive access to
each of the tables.
Does anyone have any ideas or experience with my problem.
All help is appreciated!!
