Hi
brother
- ontape ALWAYS asks for logical logs recovery when you perform a restore. Of
course, you MUST keep backing up your logical logs in between archive backups
:-)
- Informix (ontape) DO KNOWS which logical log to recover. A suggested routine
could be this:
archive backup -> continuous logical log backup -> archive backup -> cont.
logical log backup and so on, understand?
- keep a consistent backup scheme like the above and you wont need to worry.
Informix will do the rest.
You can backup logical logs to tape, or to disk and later to tape in a batch
fashion or whatever, it is up to you.
- needless to say, if there's a sequence interrupt, you won't be able to
recover from logical logs.
Hope it helps
