How do I tell the installation I talked to Informix tech support and the suggestion I got (which I think makes perfect sense) is to write two scripts called set723 and set914 or setODS and setIDS. And as you have guessed - all the env. stuff is to be put in these scripts. Based on the user's needs the sys. admin. runs the appropriate script during login. The user, however, has the choice of switching by running the other script. One thing to note is the path - depending on which version you are using, that version's bin directory needs to figure before the other in the path. Also the SERVERNUM var. is paramount. The shared memory address is decided by this. Thanks for your responses. -Hari -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum
