Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hey all..Can anyone help..
Informix ver - 7.1
OS ver - 5.5.1
Solstice Backup ver - 5.0.1
server Sun 4000
We use Solstice backup to manage the backup regime. We have 3 policies
DBMIdata (informix database), DBMIlogs (logging) and default (unix file
system).
We are using a tape library to backup our informix database. 0cbn backs up
the database while 1cbn backups up the logs.
We also have a DLT drive that backus up the unix file systems.
The problem we are encountering is that it all works fine except the logs
are getting written to 1cbn but the uksun1_shm (shared memory logs ) are
getting written to the DLT drive.
In onmonitor the logging tape parameters are set to 1cbn, and the actual
entries in onconfig and set to 1cbn..backup method is ontape -l
Does any one know why we are getting logs written to the 1cbn (header shows
alias of informix database (uksun1) and the DLT (header shows actual
database name uksun1_shm) drive ?
Also the DLT drive shows that after a backup the DLT tape is 78% full with
7.7Gig on the tape. I've looked at the volumes in nwadmin and they show
the unix file system and the log entries but this is a new server and it
does not contain 7.7 gig of data yet.
All the 0cbn,1cbn and 2cbn entries in nwadmin are correct...
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
Robert
