that's because most of it isn't there for the -g stuff to
onstat. myabe with 7.3 they did some documentation enhancements
as well? the place you need to look for this stuff is in the
training manuals, which means you have taken the classes, or have
access to someone who has. i wonder if that was, perhaps, a little
planned incentive to sell the classes maybe, nudge nudge, wink wink,
know what i mean, saaay no more...:-)
: global network information:
: #netscb connects read write q-free q-limits q-exceed
: 13/ 77 16896 2375097 2290482 9/ 10 10/ 10 5/ 0
#netscb - total number of network session control blocks / count of
all cb's allocated
connects, reads, writes - obvious
q-free - number of free buffers on the queue / free buffers simultaneously
on the queue
q-limits - max buffers that can be on the queue / max free buffers on
the queue
q-exceed - number of times q-limits have been exceeded
this is just basic info about the queue stuff for the network information.
i've never used it for much, just to try and get an idea of what the system
is doing with the network stuff.
the more useful stuff comes from the rest of these commands, like ntd, and
seeing stats for accepted and rejected connections, reads writes, that kind
of thing. the big thing with this stuff is just to try and see if your
network threads are being over or under utilized and adjusting the NETTYPE
to either have more or less network threads, and place them on the proper
vps.
hope that helps.
