I said yes, if Unix, you can use tar if you want to backup individual tables, which is what he wanted to do, not the whole schmear. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll forward to him your answer. I'm sure by now he got my message plus a dozen other from the Francophone community. A sauvegarde (lit. safeguard) is a backup (aka a "cover your backside").
