This is different with Informix. The only way to really prepare for the test is to take the class, or classes, that Informix recommends, get some hands on experience, and then go take the test. In addition, the score required to pass the test fluctuates a bit, and I think it is to make certain that a certain percentage of examinees fail (somebody correct me if I am wrong). All this to ensure that the words "Informix Certified Professional" mean something. The test are not tricky, but they are specific and precise, and you do have to know how to perform the tasks in order to answer the questions and pass the test. The various books that the gurus have written are very good additonal study material, and will help on the job, but for a basic understanding of the informix engine, it really is necessary to take the classes. By the way, all of the Informix classes that I have taken have been worth every penny. Sorry to say it, but the CBT CDs that Informix sells are not good enough to use to pass the test, and you are better off spending your money on the classes instead. For more informiation on certification you can check out the website at http://www.informix.com/informix/training/ and follow the links to your particular area of interest. ==================================================================== Harold Luse Phone: (970) 491-4120 Veterinary Teaching Hospital Fax: (970) 491-4123 Colorado State University Pager: (970) 229-8173 Fort Collins, Colorado USA E-mail: hluse@vth.colostate.edu ====================================================================
